The only FDA approved method for permanent hair removal, electrolysis involves using a probe to apply an electric current to the hair follicles. While it is the slowest solution to unwanted hair, it is the only one that can permanently remove any and all hair. Before a treatment, it's important to prepare the area that is too be worked on. There are a few things that the client can do to prepare for their visit.

• Do not shave in the 48 hours before your appointment.
• Make sure the area is clear of any cosmetics.
• Maintain a skincare routine, including facial moisturizer.
• For one week prior to treatment, avoid the use of AHA (glycolic acid) as well as Retinol/retinoid products.

After a treatment, the skin that has been worked on is vulnerable and needs some TLC!

• For the first 24 hours, apply no products other than witch hazel to the area that has received treatment.
• Don't go swimming or otherwise submerge the area and avoid sun exposure for 24 hours post treatment.
• For one week afterwards, avoid the use of AHA products, masks, scrubs, facial waxing or any other exfoliating products or treatments.
• Avoid touching the treated area until the skin has fully healed.

Allowing for semi-permanent hair reduction, laser uses pulses of intense light to target and destroy hair follicles en masse. While its permanence is less certain than electrolysis, it is by far the fastest long-lasting solution to unwanted hair. • Arrive for your treatment with the area freshly shaved.
• Make sure the area is clear of any cosmetics.
• It is imperative to avoid ALL significant sources of sun and UV exposure for 6 weeks prior to treatment. This means using 30+ SPF sunscreen even during short (less than 5 minute) unavoidable excursions into the sun, while avoiding longer excursions altogether.
• For one week prior to treatment, avoid the use of AHA (glycolic acid) as well as Retinol/retinoid products.

• Avoid sun exposure for 6 weeks after treatment. All of the same sunlight/UV restrictions from before treatment apply to the 6 weeks after treatment as well.
• Apply aloe vera as needed.
• Do not exfoliate or otherwise irritate the area until all redness/swelling has faded.
